COVID-19 – Temporary Amendments to the Clerks Award

Last week we received communication from Turnbull Hill Lawyers, one of our trusted local lawyers regarding The Fair Work Commission recently approving an urgent change to the Clerks-Private Sector Award 2010 (Clerks Award). The change is the insertion of a new schedule, being Schedule I – Award Flexibility during the COVID-19 Pandemic. It may apply to some of our businesses.

The determination has the effect that Schedule I applies from an employee’s first full pay period that starts on or after 28 March 2020 until 30 June 2020, unless extended by application.

We have provided below a link to the article about the changes and attached a copy of the determination.

The changes address duties, minimum engagement for part-time and casual employees, span of hours, temporary reduction in ordinary hours and leave entitlements.

If you have employees covered by this award, I recommend you read the article.

If you have questions in relation to the article, we suggest you either contact Turnbull Hill Lawyers on 1800 994 279 or another qualified solicitor who specialises in this area of expertise.
